Dr. Gregory Nelson is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery. Utilizing his advanced training, he specializes in procedures for the shoulder and elbow as well as joint replacement surgery. In his approach to care, Dr. Nelson works with each patient to educate them on their condition and the treatment options available.
For his undergraduate education, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge. After graduating from MIT, Dr. Nelson attended Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, completing his Doctor of Medicine and his Master of Health Science degrees. After Yale, he underwent his orthopedic surgery residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Consortium in St. Louis. Dr. Nelson then further refined his skills through a shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship at The Rothman Orthopaedic Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
