Area Sports Medicine Expert Dr. Frank Thomas Joins Orthopedic Associates
Dr. Frank Thomas, a local board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, will be joining the team of experts at Orthopedic Associates. Beginning Jan. 1, Dr. Thomas will be seeing patients at Orthopedic Associates’ main office, located at 1050 Old Des Peres Road, Suite 100. Dr. Thomas has been providing musculoskeletal care to area patients in Missouri for over two decades. With subspecialty fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine, Dr. Thomas specializes in providing comprehensive care for musculoskeletal injuries and conditions affecting athletes and active individuals. Utilizing both conservative and surgical treatment options, Dr. Thomas is dedicated to relieving his patients’ pain and getting them active again. His expertise includes the following:
- Arthroscopic procedures.
- Degenerative conditions.
- Fracture management.
- Knee and shoulder reconstruction.
- Sports medicine.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Dr. Thomas went on to his surgical internship at the Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Texas. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York. Opting to pursue additional training in orthopedic sports medicine, Dr. Thomas continued his education with a fellowship at the University of Connecticut. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
